Angela Russell, 39,  is a nationally ranked ultra-runner, outdoor enthusiast and mother of two from Frederick, Maryland. When Angela is not busy being a full time mom or training for her next race, she coaches and motivates recreational runners. As an RRCA and Girls on the Run coach, Angela helps local runners improve their times and increase their distances. She enjoys assisting and inspiring others to be strong, healthy and the best they can be.

Angela is also the founder of the Shed Heads trail running group. The 300+ members of the Shed Head running club lace up their sneakers and get together for organized runs through the Catoctin Mountains (Frederick Watershed). This eastern rampart of the Appalachian Mountains is one of Angela’s favorite places and she enjoys getting out in the Shed as a frequently as possible.

The first ultra Angela ever completed was the Blues Cruise 50k. After running this trail based race, she was instantly hooked and has been challenging herself to go father and to take on more difficult courses. Since the Blues Cruise, Angela has run in the JFK50mi, The Ring 100k++, the MMT100mi and the Hellgate 100k.  Angela placed 1st female and 4th overall during her performance in the The Ring and 4th female at the MMT100 in 2015.
